Visual Marketing Evaluation

Apple evaluates its stores for performance on many levels, including how each store's visual marketing materials are displayed and used. Here is a partial list of the actual evaluation points the inspection team uses, with each point scored as "needs work," "good" or "excellent."

  • products are placed as per overhead planogram
  • products are evenly spaced along walls and tables
  • moveable products have a lease on them
  • when two or more calbes are grouped, they have the appearance of one cable
  • cable ties are approximately six inches apart
  • when several cables are bound, the dominant color matches the zip ties
  • alarm cable colors relate to the product colors
  • all window display security devices do not disrupt the visual design
  • any window display acrylics, glass and display products are free of fingerprints or smudges
  • products on shelves are not over-stocked
  • paged boxes are closed with Velcro dots
  • demo computers are up-to-date with newest software
  • demo computers are properly named
  • sign easels are all set in their proper locations with correct signs
  • all signs are placed to the right of the demo unit and on the correct line
  • table finishes are not discolored from use
  • demo units are dust and smudge free
  • walls and woodwork do not have scuff marks or other blemishes
