Village Pointe (Neb.) Construction

Thanks to James for these photos of the future Village Pointe (Omaha, Neb.) Apple store construction progress taken in early August 2006. Check these photos taken at the end of August.

The storefront is taking shape, with the aluminum support structure for the stainless steel façade showing. The location of the back-lit Apple logo is defined by a cross-member in the middle of the upper section.

Crates of building materials are outside the shopping center. The stones to the right appear to have been removed from the existing façade, to be replaced with Apple's storefront design.

The interior of the store is empty at this point, but will be fitted with a stone floor, drop ceiling and all the other usual furnishings of an Apple store.

Outside the store is a crate with the formal address of the future Apple store at Village Pointe.

These photos were taken by another tipster during the last week of August, and show how the storefront has been covered up, and work is progressing on the interior of the store.

Workers are reinstalling stonework on the front, while a blue tarp covers the storefront where the backlit
Apple logo will appear.

You can see the stone design on either side of the Apple store façade, which will presumably be stainless
steel.

The interior of the store has been outfitted, but the final finish hasn't been installed (floor, ceiling, etc.).
Notice the blue Ethernet cabling that's been installed at points along the wall, and the two wall openings on
the right side for the Genius Bar video screens.

The side hallway of the store, which appears to be outfitted with frames for shelving.
