The beginning months of 2005 have been fairly quiet, but only because Apple made extensive plans during late 2004 to open stores in the latter half of 2005. Several stores were revealed during the last three months of 2004, and the first four months of 2005, meaning they will probably open in the Fall, and certainly before the holiday shopping season between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day.

Here is timeline diagram of the stores for which grand opening dates can be forecast. You should note the stores that have been delayed or rescheduled for some reason, and for which a forecast isn't possible. In some cases a definite date is known (because it's the same day a new mall opens, for example), and in other cases only a 3-4 month window is predictable.

As you can see from the chart, February-May is a little slow. But then August-November begins a very active period for grand openings.
