Ste Catherine (Montreal) Store Barricade

Thanks to Raymond for the latest photos of the Ste Catherine (Montreal) store construction, showing the barricade that's been erected. The paint job is a little light for Apple's usual dark black color, but maybe it's just the first coat. Also note the infamous parking meter on the inside (with orange "out of service" bag over it).

The store fits in between a narrow two-story store that has lots of architectural details, and a five-story building with lots of windows.

Looks like the TAG store on the left is having a liquidation sale.

Inside the lower opening you can see an orange cover on one of the parking meters that Apple petitioned to remove--permanently. The city turned down the company's request, apparently fearing it would set a precedent for other requests from businesses. Apple's architects didn't like the meter interfering with the view of the storefront. It's not clear why the barricade has that opening in the center--it's not related to the back-lit logo.
