Shinsaibashi Apple Store
August 26, 2004

The two-story Shinsaibashi Apple retail store is located along the wide and impressive Midosuji street, which runs through the Shinsaibashi shopping district of Osaka. The road is four lanes in one direction, and features an additional, separated lane on both sides for "local" traffic. The street is lined on both sides and in the median with trees, making the Apple store logo a prominent feature even from a distance.

The store occupies the ground floor, with a wide glass window and door. The second floor is behind the stainless steel siding and has no windows. The 3rd and upper floors are not yet finished. It's not clear if Apple will occupy any of the floors for training, offices, etc.

On Thursday there was some maintenance activity outside the store, mostly on the stainless steel siding. About 4 p.m., when these photos were taken, workers used a lift to reach the backlit Apple logo, adjusting and cleaning it.
