Shinsaibashi Retail Store - August 22, 2004

Thanks to Makino for these photos of the Shinsaibashi retail store, taken on August 22nd, just a week before the grand opening.

A view of the store from across the corner and across the street. The store is the classic type, with stainless steel siding and a white, back-lit Apple logo.
There is still some blue-colored material covering the stainless steel front. The main entrance is cut at an angle to the corner, and is covered with a roll-down
metal grating.

A closer view of the storefront, showing the angled entrance. There are two white Apple logos
on the front windows of the store.

This blueprint-type diagram was displayed on the side of the building, apparently for the fire department. It shows the main Apple store entrance
to the lower right. Also note the trees lining Midosuji Street (to the right), and the circular feature inside the store (lower left) that is the glass staircase. It appears there is a
stairway from the ground level to a landing, then another stairway to the circular structure on the second level, which appears to be suspended over the ground floor.
