One Stockton Update
January 6, 2004

During the MacWorld Expo & Conference at Moscone Center, I passed by the construction site of Apple's One Stockton retail store. Virtually the entire building is wrapped in black netting as workers continue inside and outside construction. When I was there, a crane was lifting heavy wooden crates onto the roof of the building. The crates had stenciled on the sides, "Made in Japan," but it was impossible to determine their contents (stone?).

The heavy-duty construction of the side walls on the Ellis St. side indicates it will support stone siding, rather than stainless steel. I could also see where the two back-lit Apple logos will be placed, and the locations of the small Ellis St. side door, and and the main store entrance on Stockton St.

On Jan. 13th I took additional photos of the roof contruction, showing the skylight that overlooks the glass stairway that leads from the first to second floor of the store.
