Apple Retail Store Policies On the back of each receipt a customer receives at an Apple store are printed the company's "Purchase Policies." Note the very last item.... Returns If you are not satisfied with your Apple purchase, please return it with the original receipt and all original product packaging within ten (10) calendar days of the date of purchase. If the item is returned, unopened, in the original box, we will exchange it or offer you a refund based on your original method of payment. Purchases made using your credit card or an Apple Instant Loan will be refunded in the form of a credit to your account. Apple will mail a check within ten (10) business days for cash, cash equivalent, and check transactions in excess of $250. Unless the item is defective, a 10 percent restocking fee will be assessed on any opened hardware or accessory. Opened software, memory and other media can only be exchanged for the same item and cannot be returned for a refund. Custom-Configured Orders and Educational Institution Purchases We regret that we cannot accept returns of custom-configured orders or items purchased at a discount as part of the Educational Institution programs. Leased Products Items purchased using a lease are subject to the terms of your lease agreement and cannot be returned; please contact your lessor for details. Third-Party Products Non-Apple-branded products are sold by Apple "as is." Please consult the appropriate manufacturer on terms and conditions of the warranty. Gift Cards Apple Gift Cards can be applied toward purchases at retail Apple Store locations in the United States only; they cannot be redeemed at the online Apple Store or at Apple Resellers. Your Apple Gift Card cannot be used to purchase additional Apple Gift Cards or applied as payment to any account. Except where prohibited by law, Apple Gift Cards are nonrefundable and will expire 24 months after the last financial activity. Report a lost or stolen Gift Card to the retail Apple Store where the Gift Card was originally purchased. If you request a replacement card, you must present the original purchase receipt. Before a replacement card can be issued, the retail Apple Store must verify that the Gift Card has not already been redeemed. For balance inquiry, call 888-320-3301. Purchase Orders Business purchases made using a purchase order are subject to "Net 30" terms. Educational Institution purchases made using a purchase order are subject to "Net 45" terms in Florida, Massachusetts, and Mississippi. Educational Institution purchases made using a purchase order are subjec to "Net 60" terms in New Jersey, Ohio, and Connecticut. Educational Institution purchases made using a purchase order are subject to "Net 30" terms in all other states. Pricing The retail Apple Store endeavors to offer you competitive prices on Apple products. Should Apple reduce its price on any Apple-branded product within ten (10) calendar days of purchase, you may request a refund or credit of the difference between the price you were charged and the current selling price. To receive the refund or credit, you must provide an original receipt and you must visit a retail Apple Store within fourteen (14) days of the announcement of the reduced price. [Editorial comment: It's not common for Apple to reduce the price on an item, and retain it in stock. The most common example is when they speed-bump their desktop computer line, and then retain the former high-speed model in the line-up as the low-speed model, with a corresponding price reduction. However, even in this case, the lower-speed model usually has features (faster bus, USB 2.0, etc.) that make it slightly different than the previous model--and make it ineligible for the price matching mentioned in the above policy.] |
