Ginza Apple Store Grand Opening
November 30, 2003

Starting at midnight Sunday morning, it drizzled heavily until 4 a.m., and then really began to rain! Apple's security staff moved the overnighters and others who arrived early across the street, under the Matsuya department store construction barricade. Congratulatory flower displays lined the sidewalk as the rain ended just 15 minutes before the store opened. A huge crowd of passersby and media gathered around the entrance, and at 10 a.m. store manager Steve Cano welcomed those first in-line to come inside, to thunderous chanting and applause from the store's staff. Also see page 2 of photos.
