Century City (S. Calif.) Store Construction

It's not often that you get to see an Apple store in full-construction mode. But here is the future Century City store in Los Angeles, in a new section of the mall they call, "The Makeover of the Century. As you can see, when these photos were taken by a passerby in the second week of May, the entire exterior was finished (and uncharacteristically exposed to public view), the interior flooring was installed but covered with protective material, and the side glass partitions are installed. However, the ceiling is missing, the side counters and other furniture has not been installed, and blue network cabling has been snaked through the walls.

The future Coach store on the left, the Apple store in the center, and the existing Limited Too store on the right. Overhead is a new walkway from the new second-level shops to the second level of Bloomingdales.

The Apple store with Limited Too beyond. You can barely see exposed wires hanging from the overhead walkway, which may include lighting for the front of the Apple store, which is obviously cast in a strange shadow from the walkway.

The exterior of the store is finished, but the windows are covered with brown paper (duh!).

The interior of the store, showing the protective panels over the stone flooring ,the glass side partitions, and everything else unfinished, including the ceiling. At the back of the store you can see a coil of blue computer network cabling hanging from the ceiling.

The left side wall of the store, showing the blue network cabling that's been installed behind the wall.

The right side wall of the store, with the glass partitions and blue network cabling. At the far left you can see the wall cut-outs for the LCD screens at the Genius Bar.
