Carrousel du Louvre - Paris

In late September 2007 the MacBidoulle Web site reported that Apple had abandoned its plans for an Opera District store, and had now focused on the Carrousel du Louvre underground shopping center.

Thanks to Vincent for these photos of the location and the reconaissance, late on a Sunday, which he says doesn't really show the usually crowded nature of the mall.

He noted there are several wide store already in the mall, such as Sephora and Esprit, offering nice possibilities for Apple. However Apple wouldn't be able to customize the exterior of any store, since they're all identical.

"I spotted a space that seems to be empty, however its location is not frontal to the main hall. It's in a parallel corridor and wouldn't be a good choice for Apple," Vincent reports.

More interestingly he found a space near one of the museum entrance and close to Virgin Megastore, that is now allocated to the IRB World Cup, which may be freed up after the cup in late October.
