Location: 1301 Burlingame Avenue, Burlingame CA

Number: 63

Grand Opening: July 26, 2003

First in Line: Devin, 7:30 a.m. Friday

Building: A single-story building that fronts a busy street in the old downtown section of this small town on the Peninsula south of San Francisco. Neighbors include Abercrombie & Fitch, Pottery Barn, Sephora and Gap.

Features: It's a "narrow" style store, with POS at the rear. It has a gray sandstone facade and Italian marble flooring. The two logos (see below) are lighted from behind and are constructed of 2-inch thick clear plastic material. The store has two interesting features: it looks like a 2-story building, but is not. Also, the front windows run the full width of the building, but the interior of the building does not--check the right side of the store, and you'll notice that the interior wall actually intrudes into the store by about 6 feet.

Grand Opening: This was the second "official" Overnighter event and came just two weeks after Walnut Creek. Again, we had all-night power, a Webcam and mild temperatures. Ron Johnson and his two small children greeted those coming into the store, and the kids handed out T-shirts in tubes (OK!) when customers left the store. Steve was on vacation and couldn't come.
