ABQ Uptown Construction

These photos show the construction progress of the ABQ Uptown (Albuquerque, NM) store as of October 16, 2006. You can see that the stainless steel panels have arrived and are about to be installed.

The black plastic moisture barrier has been installed over the metal support structure for the stainless steel panels, leaving an opening for the back-lit logo. The store to the right will be a Sunglass Hut, while the space to the left is as-yet unleased.

A long view of the store shows the street-type mall surroundings.

The interior of the Apple store in mid-October shows that no interior furnishings have been completed. Notice the wall cut-outs in the back wall for the future Genius Bar LCD screens.

Outside the store are the crates shipped from japan containing the stainless steel panels for the store façade, while this open crate holds the acrylic Apple logo that will be installed above the door.

Another view of the back-lit Apple logo in its shipping crate.

The stainless steel panels are made by Kikukaka in Japan, and shipped to the United States in wooden crates.

This "Case No. 31," which appears to actually be the ninth of 11 crates that were shipped.
