14th Street - Final Week Construction on the 14th Street (NYC) store continues as the December 7th grand opening date looms. Typically, the store looks completely unfinishable, but somehow Apple's construction team always manages to pull it off in time. Thanks to Harold for these photos that show the south and west sides of the building, and a glimpse of the interior work.
A view of the west side of the building at 401 W. 14th Street in New York City. Apple will occupy this end of the building, giving it a corner location. The ground floor is obscured by the traditional black-painted plywood barricade. However, the façade and design of the ground floor is exactly like the visible upper parts of the building.
A view of the south side of the building. Apple's portion of the building is to the right of the large awning, and behind the black-painted barricade. Other tenants will occupy that part of the building to the left.
A view of the south side somewhat west of the Apple section of the building. This part of the building will be occupied by other tenants. All of the materials and equipment will be gone when the Apple store opens.
On the west side, there was a view of work on the second floor. You can see that the ceiling is installed, but there is scaffolding and plastic still in place.
Another view of the second-floor interior showing considerable materials still inside the store. |
