Apple continues to rush towards Black Friday, the official start of the holiday shopping season, by opening two more retail stores this weekend in New England—Greenwich Avenue (Conn.) and Pheasant Lane (Nashua, NH). The former store adds to coverage in the metro New York City region, while the latter location adds a second store to New Hampshire, but really seems fill in coverage for the far north metro Boston region. Both grand openings are set for 10 a.m. Apple typically schedules most building construction, employee hiring and other new store tasks so they open in the last four months of the calendar year, in order to maximize the number of stores open for holiday shopping. Only one other store opening has been confirmed—the Bockenheimer Straße store in Frankfurt (Germany) on December 5th.

Everyone should look at the AppleInsider photos of the Greenwich store and compare them to the Google Streetview. This is a GREAT example of what Apple should be doing more instead of only just when zoning requires it. The store blends in perfectly with the area and is also a good example of recycling as not all the facade is new. It’ll be interesting to see how much it resembles a mini-Regent Street with those new arches.
