The grand opening of a grand Carrousel de Louvre (Paris) Apple store is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, and IFO will be there cover all aspects of the waiting line, the opening ceremonies and the store interior design. There is a chance of rain every day this week, and temperatures on in the low 50s, so rain gear and an umbrella is required. There are Apple store enthusiastics coming from several countries in Europe to cover the event and to join the waiting line. Keep an eye on twitter/ifostore for on-going updates starting Thursday afternoon, and this Web site for full reports—as I’m able to transmit them from the underground shopping center.

This is great news! Bon voyage to France, Gary, and I can’t wait to read your coverage because I sadly can’t be there myself. Post lots of photos!
I’m in front of the Apple Store with Gary, himself! What a beautiful store in such a significant place! No one in line yet, and we’re not sure what the protocol will be. The powers that be in the Carrousel shopping center have xray machines for people going in or out with bags. We aren’t sure yet if they shut down the Carrousel at night, which would force a line outside at night! Starbucks is right across the plaza from the Apple Store, so there’s some comfort there!
More later, Mike Kaufmann
