The seaside town of Cardiff (UK) will host the grand opening of the St David’s 2 Apple store this Thursday at 10:30 a.m., part of a huge expansion of the adjacent St David’s Centre that opens at the same time. The new store will expand Apple store coverage to the capital of Wales, a major tourist and shopping destination. Besides major retailers, the surrounding district includes the city’s new central library, a two hotels, a multi-screen cinema and large car park. The store brings the total UK stores to 23, with several more known to be under construction, including one at Covent Garden in London.

Cardiff isn’t really considered to be a seaside town here – it’s the capital city of Wales. Seaside towns are places like Brighton, Skegness, etc.

Still, thanks for the Twitter heads up on this one.
Would you describe New York or San Francisco as a “seaside town”? This blog pretends to be authoritative and well-researched but frequently – as is the case with this post – falls far short.
Please do a little more research, or drop the made-up “colour” which you pepper your posts with.
I have no national axe to grind and I appreciate this site very much. That being said, seaside town was an unfortunate choice of descriptions for Cardiff, a major sea port and city in this area. Seaside towns don’t have the foot traffic that warrants the construction of an Apple store. :-)
I heard rumors that one was going to be coming to Worcester (UK) soon. Its one of the fastest growing cities in the UK and already pretty big.
I don’t live there but go there occasionally so it would be nice to see. It would fit into the done up high street there which is all glass and modern stuff.
