Apple Store Windows Win Industry Award

May 11, 2009

Three of Apple’s retail store window displays have been awarded honors by the Association for Retail Environments, part of the group’s annual effort to recognize the innovation and quality of store designs. The group made the awards in Las Vegas during its annual conference in March. They included awards for the best store, fixture and visual presentation in several categories of retail. Apple’s stores were cited in the Visual Presentation category, specifically for its Back to School, Cherry Blossom Nano and Holiday Santa iPhone window displays. The judges said the green blackboard of the back-to-school window was “simple, yet striking,” and noted the cherry blossom theme, “gave stores a sense of spring, followed through in the retailer’s print media.” The holiday window, “took months of back-and-forth to ensure the correct proportions and scale,” the association said. Download (pdf) a description of all the awards, or view the association’s on-line book of winners.
