Nothing is random at an Apple store, particularly the product lay-outs, which are standardized through “planograms” that document where everything should be located. The product placement planning begins at Apple’s retail headquarters in Cupertino (Calif.), and ends with a series of detailed listings and diagrams that have been previously revealed. Now a store visitor has spotted the use of of a planogram “in the wild” as an employee re-stocked some shelves. The planograms are in a binder, and consist of a text-based diagram of where iPod/iPhone accessories are to be placed on the wall pegs. The text is accompanied by a page of tiny photos of each product to even better detail their required locations. Check a photo after the break.
The employee who is restocking the shelves will pick the needed items from the back storeroom and put them into a plastic bin. Once out front, he/she will then locate the proper display location, using the planograms if the product is totally out of stock.

…every chain of stores does this, right down to Walmart… you dont think they just randomly throw those boxes on a shelf and hope it fits do you?
