Greensboro Store Opening Announced

February 17, 2009

The Apple retail store at the Friendly Center (Greensboro, NC) will hold its grand opening this Saturday at 10 a.m., the first new store of 2009. The company announced the event on the store’s Web page, almost one year after its scheduled opening. It’s the fourth retail store for the state.

Will there be any ceremonial events coordinated with this opening, I wonder?

First X number of people will receive a free t-shirt. Certain to be a media frenzy! I’m pumped.

I cannot wait for this opening! I drove by today and saw the “Grand Opening” sign. I hope that there are giveaways, (in addition to the t-shirts) because I could use a new MacBook…

At any rate, does anyone think that there will be a lot of people waiting in line? I’d love to go at 10 o’clock, but I’m not very fond of waiting for hours in line…

Over a macrumors, people have been debating what time to get there. Some people don’t seem to think that there will be a very big crowd gathered before 10 am. I, however, think that there is a likelihood that a substantial amount of people will be there early, very early. The Triad has plenty of Apple geeks, not to mention 45,000 college students in Greensboro alone.

If you want the freebies, I would recommend getting there early.

I’m not sure how many people will be there; I do know only the first 1000 people will be getting shirts.

Although one thing to consider concerning college students (as I am one myself over in the Triangle): there may be a lot of college students that are Apple Geeks, but it is at 10AM in the morning on a Saturday, which as many can recall, is early for the typical college student…..

Just something to consider
