Almost one year after its was scheduled to open, Apple’s retail store at Friendly Center (Greensboro, NC) will open on Saturday, February 21st, “pending no last minute construction or permit delays,” according to a mall marketing assistant. In an e-mail to an Apple enthusiast, the assistant said the store is located between Williams-Sonoma and Anthropologie on Avondale Road. Job listings for the store were posted in November, 2007, but a mall expansion apparently persuaded Apple to wait for a new space in the open-air mall northwest of downtown.

It’s about time…
I’m wondering if they’ll have some sort of grand opening. I haven’t heard any of the broadcast media reporting the opening… only the News and Record (who lifted the story from this site).
EduCat – If the grand opening is for real, Apple will announce it with a Web page perhaps by Monday or Tuesday this week. Keep a watch here.
Thanks Gary! I’ll be watching with great anticipation!
