An update on this location. This morning (06-03-09) a stone panel or panels fell from the 5th and 6th floor of the building into the street below. This happened at around 6:45am. No one was hurt. As of 12:30pm Walnut Street is still closed from 15th Street to 17th Street while the City inspects the building.

Since Brassier Pierre moved out there has been no movement or activity on the lower levels of the building.

I spent some time in Philly as a kid delivering newspaper pages to a printer on the other side of city hall. I was a true spirit in the business, dodging trucks and busses to get the plates there on time. Walnut Street was over where the ritzy shops were. My Mom never shopped there - too expensive! I spent a lot of time in the Franklin Institute. No, it was a museum, not a jail!

This location was also the site of Temple University's Center City Campus where they taught audio and video production using the old KYW-TV 3 studios.
