The huge White City (London) shopping complex is nearly finished, allowing Apple to begin the final outfitting of its retail store there this week. The mall is scheduled for an October 30th grand opening, and activity at the Apple store is consistent with it opening the same day. The store will become the second-largest in the UK, behind the high-profile Regent Street store, and ahead of the future Covent Garden store, both also in London.

It is getting frustrating seeing Apple concentrate such a significant amount of investment in such a small area when there are places in the UK (particularly the north east) which have no stores whatsoever.
Edinburgh would be a prime location for a store, as would Newcastle. I’m sure Apple knows this but they don’t seem to be doing anything about it. I could also see an Aberdeen store doing well, given the high number of students in that city.
Have you ever been to Regent Street? As a regular customer, I find it’s always packed full of people and the service is patchy. Problem is, they opened one store in Lpndon, and it’s simply unable to cope with the crush. There are constant grumbles about Regent Street, in terms of how busy it is, the quality of service etc. Apple simply needs more capacity for Genius Bar appointments, sales, One to One sessions and general browsing space to serve London’s 10million inhabitants to uphold the standards it seeks (but often misses). It’s already had one major extension plus a recent refit to add more capacity.
There’s no doubt Edinburgh will get its store one day, but they want to make sure they’re getting it right where they’re already retailing first.
Apple store closest to Harrogate, UK. I am here for three years living close to Harrogate. Or is there a certificated dealer closer than manchester? thanks
