Those windows are recessed pretty far, does that mean something like stone as a siding instead of stainless steel which isn’t very deep at all?

Brian — Good observation! In fact, the building face is set back from the adjacent building to the left (hard to tell about the building on the right). So you may be right about that additional facing will be erected.

Hey Gary,

it’s Rosenstrasse, not Bahnhofstrasse. Not sure about the number, but I would guess it’s pretty low, since street numbers in Germany go up from the city center (which in this case is literally around the corner). I would expect a 3 or a 5.

See the white space? That’s where the building is…

Gerhard & Ingo — Sorry…I was getting my Zurich and Munich store addresses confused. I’ve corrected the reference.

Im voting stone like the montreal store with glass on the bottom two levels (the open area)

Is this only a 2 story store?

Looks like it for now. I will try to get in there one of these days, shouldn’t be too hard, on these construction sites most people usually don’t know each other. Only problem is, my camera is broken (which is why I took above pics with the iPhone), and if it’s really dark inside, I guess taking a pic with the iPhone is not gonna happen ^^

Knowing Munich and its pretty stringent rules on external looks I would agree with the stone/glass approach, although the building on the opposite side of the Rosenstrasse is the “Kaufhof am Marienplatz”, which would win the award for being the “Ugliest building in the Munich pedestrian zone” :)

I have already bean inside and toke some pictures of the main floor (Erdgeschoss) and first floor (Erste Etage) but the last ones I sent in to this site where never posted, so I thought there wasn’t any interest!

Nope, I sent a set after these but they where never posted!

Brian,

I guess the recessed windows only show, that there will be a thick layer of styrophoam put on the concrete walls for isolation, what is very usual in Germany.

Yesterday I saw a truck delivering at least one of the glass panels (they were covered with blankets).

One of the glass panels has already been put to the wall.

Sorry, I had no camera with me …
