New Store Pushes into New England

September 8, 2008

It won’t be the first store in the New England states, or the most northern store in the chain, but the grand opening of the Maine Mall (S. Portland) store this Saturday at 9:30 a.m. will still be a landmark–it pushes the store territory 87 miles further up the Atlantic coast to an entirely new audience. The store was first revealed in September, 2006 and was quickly finished after a logo construction barricade appeared last month. The opening leaves Vermont as the last of the New England states without an Apple store, and one of just nine states overall without a store.

I don’t live in Maine anymore, but when I go home to visit the family, it will be a welcome addition. I would think it would have been sooner, due to Apple selling so many laptops to the state for school children.

I am so glad I have found this website. I have been frustrated for years cause I am in a part of the state that does not have a store within 3 hours of me, does apple only build stores in large populated areas? I think its kinda dumb that they put one all the way up in Maine of all places.

Well, for the over 1.3 million residents of Maine, including every 7th grader in the entire state, as well as other grades in some areas, this is a well-deserved Apple store.

I ordered a new IMAC at the Diversified Computer store in Keene NH. It was promised for Tuesday June 16th, but did not come in. I was then told it would be in on Friday June 19th. It did not come in today either. I therefore cancelled the order and will purchase my new computer elsewhere from people who care about what they are doing and meet their promises. I thought Apple was a good company to deal with I guess I am wrong. See ya!
