The state of Ohio won’t receive more than its assigned 20 electoral votes for the upcoming presidential election, but it will receive one more Apple store this Saturday. The Crocker Park (Westlake) store will hold its grand opening at 10 a.m., ending one of the longest-running construction projects that store-watchers have tracked. Word about the store first surfaced in October, 2006 when the space was just a vacant lot. Months went by with no activity, and then the building began to slowly take shape. Only within the last few weeks has the traditional Apple store architecture emerged. It will be the fourth store for Ohio, and store #232 overall, ten short of the 242-store goal set by Apple for the end of this month.

Looking at the map of current stores, shouldn’t this store be the fourth in Ohio?
Guess they need more electoral votes to get that 5th store…
It’s about time! Yahooo! As far as I know there are now four stores in Ohio unless there is one coming online I don’t know about.
Jeff — Thanks for the correction on the number of stores. I’ve updated the story.
