Tax Holidays = Longer Store Hours

August 1, 2008

As in past years, Apple stores will be open extended hours in some states to allow customers to make tax-free purchases of qualifying products, including computers. States such as North Carolina, Missouri, New Mexico and Tennessee set aside one weekend before the school year begins, and allow purchases of clothing, computers and certain other products without the usual sales tax. Depending upon the state, the savings could be $100 to $200 on Apple’s computers. Check this Web page of state tax holidays, and then Apple’s list of stores to determine special hours.
