I reacted several ways to this news. At first, why would anybody bother. Then, why would anybody pay that much, followed by, well if they are dumb enough to pay that much for a t-shirt. But then, how about those of us who really enjoy what Apple has done for the modern electronics and appreciate being a part of their expansion. Should we not be able to get a promotional item without having to compete against speculators just trying to grab a free item and then make money off of it. Maybe Apple should print another hundred shirts and put them on e-bay just to kill the profits of the speculators, the people grabbing shirts away from those of us that who like having a simple shirt.

My friend sold his for AU$102.50.

I was very tempted, as most of them sell for above $50, which would make the difference for the new earphones i want to buy… but alas I’ll hold on to mine for som sentimental value (whatever that may be)

I did sell mine, not because i’m a dodgy “speculator” or someone trying to make a quick buck.

I am a huuuuge apple fan and lined up for several hours on the opening afternoon to see the store. In fact i became so obsessed with apple that I’m leaving my current job to work for apple for less money.

This is one of the reasons which lead me to sell my t-shirt. i figured i’d be getting work t-shirts soon anyways and the free shirt is about 3 sizes too big, so I asked myself, ‘is it worth hanging onto it as a pajama t-shirt? To me it was ‘no’. I have my photos of the opening night and they are more important to me than i t-shirt i’ll never wear.

Anyway mine was one of the first two to sell for $51 last week and i was completely shocked to find how much it went for. I wasnt aware there would be so much demand for them!

Sorry for the long post, I just thought i’d share my reasons for selling my shirt and how it was never profit based.
