An Apple Web page is collecting the names and telephone numbers of persons who want further information on stores that will open in China, including the announced store in Beijing, but also unannounced stores in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau. The page states, “This summer, Apple’s first retail stores in China will open for business.” The page then urgers, “Register now, and be informed of Apple retail stores in Beijing…including the official opening date.” The Web page includes a form that asks for the person’s name, e-mail address, and a drop-down menu of prefectures. Apple executives announced the Beijing store last year during a financial conference call, and said it would open before this summer’s Olympic Games.
Here is the Web page that allows visitors to enter their information, and to be contacted by Apple about the future stores in the country. The required form information is indicated in red.
