The Sydney (Australia) retail store will open Thursday, June 19th at 5 p.m., according to an exclusive interview with Apple’s Sr. V-P Retail Ron Johnson by Sydney Morning Herald reporter Stephen Hutcheon. Johnson says the three-story store cost $15 million and will cover three levels, staffed by 125 employees. Johnson’s description of the store seems identical to the Boylston Street (Boston) and West 14th Street (NYC) stores, both of which include a spiral glass staircase. Johnson wouldn’t confirm details of other stores in Australia, but only that, “We’re not coming to open a single store in Sydney.” Read other details in the full story, and visit the official Sydney retail store Web page.

Why wouldn’t they post this information on the Apple website? I went over there to confirm it, and nothing, not a single mention of the store.
I just doubt Australian media.
it is on the apple australia website you have to type the URL apple.com.au/retail
@Richard
You doubt the Australian media? On what basis? Compared to what? You are really alleging the oldest newspaper in Australia faked an interview with an Apple exec?
I agree that SMH wouldn’t fake an interview at all but especially when they name the source. Maybe the daily telegraph would. But alex, the opening time isn’t on the apple website.
