The Pacific Centre (Vancouver, BC) retail store will hold its grand opening this Saturday at 10 a.m., according to press announcements sent out by Apple today. The invitation to accredited journalists did not describe the store or its location further. However, construction and mall sources, along with site visits, show that it’s a single-level store on the Granville Street side of the multi-block downtown complex.

Finally a reason not to cancel this year’s Summer Holiday
So is this Canadians biggest Apple store for now? until the Montreal store opens?
I got a message from Apple today inviting me to the store opening. The web address for the store is …. http://www.apple.com/ca/retail/pacificcentre/
I’m not an accredited journalist, so don’t know how Apple is kicking these notices out. Whoo Hooo!
The store is a typical mall store, single level, the only difference is that the the storefront will have a floating logo VS the typical US mall stores with the storefront logo mounted in the center panel.
How do you know? if its 2 floors or 1?. And the Logo.

I built the store this is how I know. As for Montreal its rolling along and should be complete sometime next month. Its rumored that the iPhone is going to be released in Canada
So since this is a mall store, if someone wanted to line up to be one of the first in would you just line up at the closest mall entrance. Also what time would be good to get there.
So, with this and the new Indiana Jones movie, it’s a good weekend to geek out. Don’t know if I’ll be at the opening. Maybe if they have the usual swag and stuff, then I might be tempted to check it out. Otherwise, I’ll check it out next week. From what I’ve seen, the location, incase anyone’s wondering is fairly easy to find. Simply enter the mall by the main entrance (the rotunda) then and start walking into the mall, and it’s like not even 30 seconds before you find it.
This is Apple’s first new interior in Canada with the all aluminum inspired by the 5th avenue store.
I went by at 5 p.m. today. The large white Apple logo and http://www.apple.com/ca listing are still missing. The white Apple logo sticker is still affixed to the door security plate of the double doors. I saw a new single black door towards the extreme left of the black hoarding that I not see before.
The crack between the double doors is still not covered. I heard clapping and took a quick peek to see people standing before a security
guard approached me. I did not notice him seating at a bench with shoppers. There was no line up or barriers. I assume that the hoarding will come down after the mall closes at 9 p.m. tonight.
the opening was really fun, a few thousand people showed up.
