When do you think people will start lining up/camping out? I want to be near/at the head of the line.

Not to toot my own horn too loudly, but I guessed this back in April:

“So the scaffolding comes down which means final sidewalk work, I’m hedging my bet for 3 weeks from now on May 17th as the opening date. That gives them sufficient time to rip up the old sidewalk and replace it with a new one and have that cure in time for literally thousands of people to trample on within several hours.

April 25, 2008 at 7:59 am”

P.S. Gary replied that large stores open on fridays, thus my estimate would be friday the 16th, not saturday the 17th. [IFO-- Toot, toot!]

Well, I’m glad to hear that it’ll be on a Friday, which is a day that I’m in town for work. I know I’ll probably be at the end of a very long line, but I’ll probably just stop by after I get out at 5.

Wonder if I can scrape up the change to buy a new iPod/iPhone that night. My current 3G iPod is still kicking, but running out of juice pretty rapidly each day.

This is going to be great. No more driving out to Chestnut Hill Mall, like I used to.

How do you know, Jafo? It’s not that I don’t believe you — walking by there every day, I get the sneaking suspicion that they’re not going to be done by next Friday — but I’m just wondering.

Well, I was at an interview seminar for this Store, and they said they’d be bringing employees on for training the end of April, and the store would be opening “May-ish”

I haven’t been by there recently to check it’s progress, I haven’t even seen the green monster replica in person yet.

But is it typical for Apple to only give a weeks notice for the opening of store, let alone a Flagship store?

Interesting. So, did you get the job? Have you had training somewhere yet?

You should definitely check out the green monster replica before they take it down. It’s really cool.

I’ve been checking the progress almost daily. The glass staircase has been installed. I don’t see why they can’t open by the 16th. I remember pictures of the West 14th store just a week before they opened, and the interior was just a concrete shell.

No, Sadly, I didn’t get past the first part. I’m sure there were quite a few more qualified applicants than I. and I heard that they were taking alot of internal employees from other stores (cambridgeside) etc…. and relocating to the new store.
