The future George Street (Sydney, Australia) retail store glass façade has taken on the same type of plastic covering material at the future Boylston Street (Boston) store. The only difference is that the Sydney store doesn’t have a theme–it’s all black. Thanks to Jason for photos of the current site, which shows black-painted plywood still blocking the lower eight feet of the storefront. Otherwise, the outside of the store seems ready to go. [photos after the break]

View of the future store from the right side, showing the height of the glass façade installed by Apple. Black plywood still covers the lower 8-feet of the glass.

Pedestrians walk past what eventually will become a Sydney icon.

The black material over the glass panels is plastic that will eventually be peeled off. The metallic elements spaced over the façade are the metal connectors for the glass panels beneath.
