Canada Store Construction Update

May 2, 2008

Construction on the future West Edmonton Mall (Alb.) retail store is underway, and photos show the black-painted barricade hiding basic interior work. So far there are aluminum studs in place along the side and back walls, some basic electric conduit installed, and some air-conditioning ducts overhead. The store will definitely be open by the holidays.

Interviews for the store are happening right away… next week.

Kinda odd they chose the location by the Disney Store… It’s off towards phase 1… which isn’t a very high traffic area… (not as compared to someplace by Burbon Street, or even better by the Ice Palace. Although those locations are prolly pretty hard to get into.

This will be a good spot as locals come to the disney store and it is close to phase 2 yet still low rent being on the second floor. The transit is also close to this section.

Dante:

How much do you think they pay their sales rep? Or be it just as a cashier? Do you think the pay would be low considering that’s how much mall workers gets paid unless it’s the managing position?

Poked my head in today and the drywall is up near the back and some of the walls as well but it is still a long way from finished. The door was unlocked and no one was their, wish I had my camera. I was late for a bus so I only got a quick look.
