I work for apple and the rumor is that we weren’t able to get a permit. So there might not be an apple store but apple offices like in Va.

Eric,

The Metro (or lack there of) is irrelevant when it comes to Georgetown. Just stop at Foggy Bottom metro station and walk 10 minutes and you’ll be at Wisconsin & M.
The real point of putting it in Georgetown is that the average retail store is pulling around $2.5 million a year — because of the number of passerby’s. There’s a lot more exposure too — not so much in Dupont OR Connecticut. If Apple is not going to put the store in G-town, then why have a store in DC at all?

Can’t wait for this store to open!

But it’s a huge foot-traffic area, and Apple likes those locations best. Georgetown is über trendy, and there’s a great mix of college students and affluent residents who will no doubt be dropping the big bucks.

I think it’s a terrible idea to have the store in Georgetown. There’s no Metro in Georgetown.

Dupont Circle on Connecticut Avenue or on the Traffic Circle would be a much better and more accessible location.

Oh, no, they won’t be demolishing it if they move into the FCUK store. It’s a perfect Apple Exterior. Even a small arched window to the second level for the Apple logo.
