There are many retailers on the South side of Bloor that fit the image of Yorkville. In fact, many of the retailers listed here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yorkville%2C_Toronto#Modern are on the South side of Bloor. Having a location here wouldn't preclude the existing Eaton Centre store from surviving or even thriving. Many retailers have stores in Yorkville as well as in the Eaton Centre and Queen Street West, which is a near-Yorkville in image and just West of the South end of the Eaton Centre.
