Mac Store Next to…a MAC Store

The construction barricade has been removed from the front of the future Cherry Hill (NJ) retail store, revealing the standard stainless steel and glass façade. The storefront also provides in interesting juxtaposition with the store directly next door–the MAC cosmetic store. The adjoining locations will no doubt create some chuckles among the mall visitors, but will make directions easy for either store: “It’s by the Mac store.” Check the unusual photos after the break.

The barricade has just been taken down, revealing a rather wide store, but with the standard Apple store design.

What’s more unusual is the MAC cosmetics store right next door to the Apple store.

    They couldn’t have asked for better placement next to another store – ever!

    Since I left Apple Retail about a year ago, I got a call from them (Apple) asking If I would consider coming to work at this store and at openings at 4 others. I said no.

    I’m making more money and lot’s less pressure now.

    Working at Apple Retail is the harshest environment I have ever experienced.

    Management doesn’t seem to care about the employees and the rare good managers are marginalized.

    When I left the Store, it was more about numbers and less about customer care.

    For example, how many people could we run through the GB cue per hour, what was the lowest turn around time for our repairs, how fast could a sale be wrapped up, how many sales could each Mac Specialist do, and so on.

    Yeah, this is big business to be sure.

    And the rough shod managers that were hired into the store reflected that.

    The more personable one were pushed to one side or were given less critical roles.

    But I still remain loyal to Apple and wish them well…as I have started using their computers in 1979.
