There is very active construction at the future Rue Ste. Catherine (Montreal) retail store, making it certain the store will open before this year’s Christmas holiday. Photos posted by Ari z. on flickr show the structural steel and second-level flooring has been installed, and some of the wall support structure is in place. The store itself appears rather narrow, and it’s not possible to tell where or if there will be a glass staircase. View the March 14th photos here, and follow store news at Rémy’s blog.

In the first and third pictures, it looks like right in the middle of the second floor near the back is some wooden framing. The spacing looks about right for a regular glass staircase, but without the high-er res images, that’s the best I can tell. Good for Canada to finally be getting a flagship store.
