After months of speculation, the precise location of the future Vancouver (BC) retail store has been located: space G030 within the Pacific Centre mall, on the Granville Street side of the complex south of Dunsmuir Street. The 6,700 square-foot space is still under construction, in the space formerly occupied by the Holt Renfrew department store. One retailer in the new spaces has already opened, but others including Geox, Jacob, Browns and H&M have “Spring 2008″ opening dates. The front of the store is covered with a plain white wall, while the street side wall is still unfinished. From the construction, it’s impossible to tell when the store will open.
Here’s an elevation of the Granville Street side of the Pacific Centre complex, showing the location of the Apple store and its neighbors. The sidewalk slopes downward from left to right in this view.

The area of the Apple store is located in the upper-right corner of this photo (thanks Nelson!).

For a first store in Vancouver, certainly not impressed with the location. Let us hope the design adds more to it.
Why not impressed with the site? Pacific Centre mall is in a fine location.
Not overly happy with the location. You would think a city like Vancouver would have a much more prominent area to put the first Apple Store.
Hopefully this will just be the first of many Apple Stores to open in Vancouver. Hopefully a non-downtown location will open up. Maybe somewhere around Broadway and Granville – there’s a lot of foot traffic around the area.
Are you guys kidding? Pacific Centre is a good location; you can access a downtown-bound bus in most parts of the city, and most of those routes terminate within a block or two of this store – if not right in front of it. Considering the crappiness of trying to get anywhere in Van by car, seems like a good idea. Probably a 2nd location in North/West Van – better “car” location – and then something at Granville/Broadway. As a guess.
Pacific Centre is the highest selling mall in Canada on a per square foot basis. Apple is the highest selling retailer per square foot.
Made for each other.
the H+M and Jacob are gigantanormous.
