Every Apple Retail store that I have been to has a slide out desk built into the Genius Bar. You can see the slots in the wood where it slides out. It is the for the wheelchair bound. It is required by code.

The ADA law is well intentioned, but just makes stores come down to the lowest common denominator, and winds up incoveniencing everyone. You can't possibly accomodate every handicap - hearing, vision, speech, light sensitivity, etc. Stores should be built for "normal", non-handicapped people and those with handicaps should simply adjust to the fact that they have the disability, and not the rest of the planet. The people that filed the lawsuit in this case are obviously looking to make a fast buck, by getting Apple to give them a settlement, as these crooks look for another ADA law victim to target for their particular brand of extortion.

When I went to MG training, I had to training at the SF store. I served 3 customers at the GB in wheelchairs. I assumed they got up there in the elevators.

I went out from behind the Bar and sat next to them on the benches while I talked to them so I could get at eye level to them to speak.

Then I got back behind the GB to do my thing and then I came back out to them when it was time to finish up with the customers.

It seemed like an everyday occurrence there at that store to me and I didn't think anything about it.
