The bottom floor of the store is surrounded by black construction walls. There are stacks of boxes containing glass and interior construction panels. Given the absolutely furious, round-the-clock pace of construction and the gold mine that is NYC retail during the holidays, I can't imagine there is any way Apple is not going to try to open up soon. If not December, then January or February. But in that case why bother with costly weekend and late night construction?
