I think it’s great that our friends and brothers in Vancouver will get an Apple Store.

Enjoy!

It looks like they’re going into the old Holt Renfrew store, that large space in the middle of the centre.

Why do I think this? Right now they’re painting the hoardings outside that area black – that’s got to be the surest sign! :)

Then again, perhaps not… the black now has Jacob Connection signage all over it.

Just a heads up. Confirmation that there is officially an Apple store going into the Pacific Centre Mall in downtown Vancouver.

I followed up by checking for job postings at this Web page.

If you click on “Find Location” and select British Columbia, the following location is displayed:

Apply for future openings – Vancouver-Pacific Centre British Columbia V7Y 1G5

This Google Map shows the exact location the Apple Store where the store is currently being built. I work a half block from this location and it has been under construction (Canvases blocking the public’s view) for some time. In the early fall I had independently confirmed construction with a contractor working on the project. This is the first time Apple has shown the store is being built.

That space is housing an H&M too. You think the Apple store will face out on the street, or in on the mall? Or will both stores have outside entries? I walk by there everyday, I’ll keep my eyes peeled for new developments. [IFO -- Apple loves outside visibility, especially in a tourist center like Vancouver.]

Pacific Centre Mall has confirmed the Apple store to open in the summer of 2008. They will be situated next door to the new H&M. Artistic rendering shows street side entrance as well. It is NOT a flagship store (sorry to all those dreamers), but a modest 5000 sqft space (after inventory space expect 3500 – 4000 actual store space).

No theatre, or pro department, or anything that the larger stores have. It will look similar to the yorkdale store (though a bit bigger).
