Looks like Apple finally updated the tagline to read "over 200 stores", but the image of the map on their website is still outdated.

It would be sweet if the map...

...were updated, as well. Although it's starting to get crowded. [IFO -- Yea, that map. I've been balancing usefulness against the work required to keep it current. Any other stones to throw, giv'em a heave.]

It's just like McDonald's. In the early days they started advertising how many hamburgers they sold, starting at about 100,000 and changing the sign for every new 100,000. When they hit 1 million, they changed the sign for every new million until they hit 10 million. Then they changed it for every new 10 million. As tastes changed, they added new non-hamburger sandwiches, breakfast meals, salads and pizza (which failed miserably) and realized that posting their "score" no longer brought people into the stores. Once they passed 99 million, they updated the signs that still posted the "score" one last time and haven't changed the number since -- and that was 15 years ago. Now when scoreboard signs are changed, they are replaced with new signs with no score.

Hi guys. Maybe you should update your own site before running a story about Apple's...

Check out your own "Stores - current & future" link in the side bar http://www.ifoapplestore.com/stores/chronology.html

In the first line it says "there are now 170 stores open in four countries".

People in glass houses...

Wonder whether this will be posted before the page is (rapidly) updated? [IFO -- Ha! Good eye! I've updated that page.]

I didn't notice any mention of the new store under construction in Pembroke Pines (Fla.). [IFO -- Haven't heard of that location.]

Yeah, but when it's as specific as "over 170", it leads you to think it's less than 180.

I don't think it's that big of a deal. It does say "OVER 170 stores worldwide", which means it could be 170, 171 or 2 million stores.

In the end, it does seem like such a minor detail which could easily be updated but because it's so minor, it may not be at the top of Apple's priority list.
