The France-based MacBidouille Web site is reporting that Apple has abandoned plans for a retail store in the Opera District of Paris because they couldn’t reach an agreement with city officials on architectural approvals. Now the company has focused on the Carrousel du Louvre, a shopping center beneath the Tuileries garden and adjacent to the Louvre museum. Thanks to Vincent for translating that one of the mall’s great advantages is that it’s one of the few locations in Paris where stores can remain open on Sundays. Apple has planned a Paris store almost from the beginning of its retail initiative, but has never been able to find the perfect location.
