Apple will have a triple grand opening week, including two stores mid-week at the unusual hour of 6 p.m. The Oxmoor Center (Louisville, Ken.) and Los Gatos (N. Calif.) stores will open Thursday evening at 6 p.m. [Los Gatos sneek peek]. Then the Natick Collection (Mass.) store will open Friday morning at the usual hour of 10 a.m. Strangely, the grand opening announcements do not mention the sweepstakes held at previous grand openings, although commemorative T-shirts will be handed out. Opening day for the Natick Collection store coincides with the opening of a 500,000 square-foot mall expansion. However, there’s no explanation for the two other stores’ non-standard opening day and time. Last January CFO Peter Oppenheimer said Apple would open “35 to 40″ stores by the end of September. With these three stores opening, the total opened during the fiscal year will be 28. There are least another five stores in the pipeline that could be ready to open by month’s end.

I stopped by to check out things Yesterday and the Mall info center had no clue when it would open. The black plywood covering was still up. Just checked the Apple Retail page and saw nothing on Kentucky.
This just might be new iPod hype by someone.

Cannot wait for the new Louisville store to open up. I’ll be there when it opens. I really do hope that it opens on Thursday. That way I can head over there after I get out of class and get in line.

Did you notice that Los Gatos says its suppose to open on the 6th, however when you click into the directions it states that its opening on the 8th…
odd… which is which?

Any idea how many tshirts they’ll have for the Natick Collection opening? Or how many they usually have at openings now? [IFO -- They'll have 1,000 T-shirts.]
Does anyone know if the Natick Collection Mall will be allowing anyone into the newly expanded area of the mall (Where the New Apple Store is located) prior to the Grand opening tomorrow morning? When I visited the mall earlier this week. access to the new section of the mall was blocked by ceiling to floor curtains on both levels.
