If there is any a state in the US that needs more Apple presence it’s Kentucky. The next city in Kentucky that will get an Apple Store should be either Lexington or Bowling Green. My money’s on Lexington but Bowling Green would be my favorite.

Will be there hope to get a new iPod also. [IFO -- The grand opening announcement of this store does not include mention of a drawing or sweepstakes. It's a usual part of a grand opening, but maybe not this time.]

This will be my first Grand Opening. Do they offer any products on sale that day? Also, were can I find the grand opening annoucement. [IFO -- Sorry. No sale items. The official Apple posting should be on-line by Monday night or Tuesday day.]

Glad to see the store finally opening. No more driving to Indianapolis, Nashville, Knoxville or Cincinnati. When I went through the interview process (didn’t get the position) for this store I was told it was supposed to open this time last month. Hopefully MacAuthority (formerly MacTown) will have to shape up and treat their customers with some dignity and respect with an Apple store merely a mile down the road in Louisville.

Edwin,

The Apple Store used to be a much better place to work, now even the MGs are pressured and pushed to sell ProCare, sell AppleCare, sell memory and other products.

I know the folks at MacAuthority and they are good people.

Actually, Apple’s Oxmoor Center web site says: Thursday, September 6th, 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Grand Opening. [IFO -- Thanks! Correction made.]

I was all set to get there early for the grand opening this Saturday morning. Why the change to Thursday at 6pm? Sucks for me because I’m in Lexington (an hour away) and work until 5pm.

What do they do at the grand opening? What do they give free beside t-shirt? [IFO -- The manager comes out, gives a welcome, people clap, and the first visitors enter. It's just a festive get-together, especially in the waiting line. And besides that T-shirt, all you get is a good feeling.]
