		<description>I live in the Seattle-area. The local news station mentioned it last night as well. Meanwhile, I remember that I had my MDD fixed in that U. Village Apple Store years ago. Judging from the front-end of the store, I bet the backroom is pretty big. 

It's a good idea to backup everything before handing a 'sad' Mac to the Mac Genius.</description>

		<description>So the thieves got (most likely) broken computers and repair customers got new computers. Win/win!

As for replacing any of the content, loss of content on any repair computer is never the responsibility of Apple. This is gone over via the repair contract before the computer is left for repair. Also, Apple stores offer data backup (for a fee) if the customer does not have his/her data backed up.</description>
