First Steel Arrives at Boylston Street

August 19, 2007

The basement walls are nearly finished at the future Boylston Street (Boston, Mass.) retail store, and the first structural steel has arrived. Thanks to s cheung for noticing the contractor closed Boylston Street at 5 a.m. Sunday morning for the delivery, and craned in steel beam about 50-feet wide to sit atop a basement wall. A second smaller beam was installed closer to the front of the building, and some cross-beams were also installed. Most of the concrete wall forms have been removed after the concrete set. However, work continues on the walls at the rear of the building.
