Boston Store Progress Visible

August 14, 2007

After six months of construction, the Boylston Street (Boston) retail store is beginning to take shape. In cooperation with Apple reseller Tech Superpowers, we’ve been making time-lapse movies from the Webcam construction photos. Lately the Webcam shows the pouring of the exterior concrete walls, and installation of reinforcing steel for the interior walls. Watch the last two days of work in two minutes here. There are no direct links to daily videos, but you can simply add the month/date to the URL , such as: http://ifostore.cachefly.net/boston/aug1.mov.

The contractor closed Boylson Street today and a larger crane arrived at 5 a.m. Structural steel is being erected. Can the opening be far behind? Does anyone on the site know enough about construction to estimate an opening date? [IFO--I'm sitll thinking after the first of the year.]
