iPhone Gifts Arriving

July 22, 2007

Steve Jobs’ thank-you gift of an iPhone for all Apple employees is in-progress, with retail employees now receiving their devices. The iPhone gift not only demonstrates Steve’s appreciation for years of hard work, but it will also put iPhones in the hands of enthusiastic employees who will promote the device to curious onlookers.

“Nearing delivery”? Where do you get your sources from? Most Retail employees have already had their iPhones for about a week already! [IFO -- Thanks...story updated.]

3 question? July 23, 2007 at 0052

Are the retail staff getting them as well?? [IFO -- All employees receive an iPhone, both retail store employees, headquarters, etc.]

Not quite all the retail employees got one…the part-timers who have been there for less than a year were left out of the fun.

All full-time employees will get one and all part-time employees will get one free if they have been with the company for over a year.

Is it like the iPods we received way back, where we had to keep some data on them and after 2 years were able to keep them? Does anyone remember that?

actually NOT all retail employees — I have a friend who has worked part time for an apple store for just under a year — she didn’t get one as the cutoff was 12 months. So she is out of luck.

Not all employees will receive a phone. Those of us who are too “lowly,” being technically considered independent contractors (even though I’ve been doing this for four years), will receive nothing. Thanks a lot, ingrates.

LOL! Contractor… What are you whining about? You’re ” independent.” Either sign up or shut up. Your really not an employee. After 4 years?

Are you an Apple employee? If not, then you have no idea! I’m listed in the company directory, have access to the Apple VPN, have Apple business cards, and report to an Apple manager. I am also given Apple-owned equipment and have signed many contracts with Apple (including an NDA). But because I am in the field, selling Apple’s products (and 1 mil yearly at that), I am paid by another company. I used to be an Apple employee, but then they decided that if we were considered consultants that they wouldn’t have to pay benefits or give benefits. Frankly, I’m ready to quit.

Ah.. Ok! You’re the guy that works at Compusa. I was offered that job too. But Beni’s with Apple much better.

In response to Sakare – I am a consultant too & have all access to Apple internal website, VPN, company owned equipment and I received my iPhone…. I work in the field @ CompUSA. We are full time paid Apple employees and have full Apple paid benefits. Not sure what program your in but it’s not CompUSA ASC…..

So I was right. CompUsa ASC… Nough said. I was offered this job once, but decided to go with Apple. Aghhh… the beni’s
